Vertosan is believed to have been in ancient times a major road to cross Aosta Valley in direction of the Grand Saint Bernard Pass towards Switzerland. Even prehistoric settlements are present on the pass heading the valley, but it’s surely been more frequented in the past than now: today you will find no road or village up in the valley. Freedom and untouched terrain reigns up there now… and that’s what we like!
